Ancient Ireland

This creature, similar to a Greek griffin, was found on the Gundestrup cauldron, unearthed from a bog in Denmark. Dated to the first century BC, it is considered one of the finest examples of Celtic LaTene art found to date. The griffin combines the attributes of eagle (air) and lion (fire).
