Fox and Sauk

The Fox and the Sauk were tribes of Algonquian speaking people encountered by the first Europeans who came to the area we now know as Wisconsin. Tribes and clans often chose totem figures from the animal kingdom, thus taking on their traits and powers. The fox was a woodland animal known for its adaptability, cunning, powers of observation and swiftness of thought and action.
